Just In: Police Recovers Newborn Baby Stolen From Hospital

Three days after, the newborn baby, who got missing from the Okeyinmi Healthcare Center in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State on Monday, has been found.

The baby was recovered by the Ekiti State Police command.

According to the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Joseph Eribo, the baby was allegedly stolen by a lady, Deborah Aina who pretended as pregnant woman in the ward.

He explained that the lady forgot her bag in the hospital while the receipt of a drug she purchased was taken to the pharmacy where she was discovered through a CCTV and information from a reliable source after the story of the stolen baby was announced.

Reacting, the suspect Deborah Aina who is a thirty four year old explained that she stole the Baby because she lost her pregnancy and did not want her husband who was out of the country to know the development.

While receiving the baby from the commissioner of police, the parents commended police for ensuring that they were able to see their stolen child.

In another development, the commissioner of police, Mr Joseph Eribo said some people have been arrested in connection with stolen of a three year old child in Omisanjana area of Ado Ekiti.

He promised that the command would continue to do everything possible to get rid the State of criminal elements.
