Six Hundred personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), have been deployed
This was disclosed during the August Edition of the Monthly Commandant’s Briefing, held at the NSCDC Headquarters, Iyaganku, Ibadan.
The briefing outlined the NSCDC’s preparedness and commitment to ensuring a peaceful electoral process.
Reacting ,the State Commandant, Augustine Padonu gave assurance that NSCDC would collaborate with other security agencies in the State to ensure adequate security across the state during the election.
He also stressed the readiness of the Corps to partner the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in ensuring a credible, free, and fair election.
“As part of our efforts, we will ensure protection of lives and property, as well as the safeguarding of critical national assets. We are fully committed to ensuring that the election process is peaceful, secured, and devoid of any disruptions,” Padonu said .
Commandant Padonu also assured the public that the personnel deployed for the election would conduct themselves with the highest level of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He reiterated the stand of the corps against any attempt to disrupt the election and urged voters to turn out en-mass to exercise their franchise.
