In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to the Governor, Kayode Akinmade, the appointments, five from each of the two hundred and thirty-six wards in the state, are to serve as change agents and bridge the gap between the people and government.

The statement notes that the assistants are to articulate the needs of their wards, provide feedback to government, and support the delivery of democratic dividends across the state.

According to the statement, the initiative is in line with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s promise to run an all-inclusive government and ensure even development in every community.

It urges the new appointees to contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of their wards, local councils, and the state at large.
