Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ife Federal Constituency of Osun State have withdrawn the Vote of No Confidence recently passed on the State Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi.
The withdrawal was made during a meeting attended by the Members of Board of Trustees, BOT, Former National Secretary, Wale Oladipo, the Deputy Governor, the Senatorial Leader, Akin Famuyide, the executives of the Constituency, all the Commissioners and Appointees from Ife Federal Constituency, all the Local Government Chairmen and Members, House of Assembly from the Area.
While briefing the Media shortly after the peace parley, the State PDP Chairman, Mr. Sunday Bisi said, the meeting was aimed to foster unity among the stakeholders in Ife Federal constituency and affirmed that the vote of no confidence earlier passed on Prince Adewusi and others has been withdrawn.
Mr. Bisi who explained that such issues could arise in Politics, noting that the PDP has its internal mechanism of resolving crisis..
“We are in a society, it is not possible for us to live without having this kind of thing once in a while; but we thank God that PDP has internal mechanism through which we resolve all issues and disputes, we thank God that we have done it here today in Ile-Ife and peace now reigns, the storm is over and peace will reign in supreme in Ife PDP and Osun PDP in general” Osun State PDP Chairman added.
Speaking, the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi described the issue as a storm in the tea cup which has been settled as a family.
“Let me just tell you, men of the press, that bygone is bygone. We have forgotten everything that happened in the past, and we have turned over a new leaf. What happened here today is to tell all of you that PDP is one. There is no division between us, and in politics, you cannot rule out what has happened in the past” Prince Adewusi said.
Narrating what led to the crisis, the Senatorial leader for the Osun East Central District, Mr. Akindele Famuyide said, one of the decampees in the State was seen moving around the leaders, hence the call for rejection of the act.
Mr. Famuyide expressed delight that the Constituents have restored confidence in the Deputy Governor and other leaders
Recently, PDP leaders and members in Ife Federal Constituency, Osun State passed a vote of no confidence on the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi and some other leaders over an alleged interactions with some members of the opposition Party in the State.
