Owa Obokun and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Haastrup, Ajimoko III has ordered the removal of Oba-Odo of Ilesa, Busuyi Gbadamosi
The removal notice was contained in a statement by the Owa Obokun.
According to the statement, the removal has to do with allegations against Oba-Odo of Ilesa, Busuyi Gbadamosi over the removal of two electric transformers, 300KVA and 500KVA from Atakumosa Market in 2023 for personal gains during the reign of immediate past Owa Obokunn,Oba Gabriel Aromolaran.
The late Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Aromolaran was said to have made futile efforts to enable Oba-Odo of Ilesa, Busuyi Gbadamosi to return the transformers during his reign.
The current Owa Obokun, Oba Clement Haastrup’s Committee on Resolution of Chieftaincy disputes, land and sundry matters received petitions from members of the affected communities against Chief Busuyi Gbadamosi for allegedly removing the transformers serving about five communities.
Appearing before the committee,Chief Busuyi Gbadamosi, having been testified against by the Iyaloja of Atakumosa Market and the Youth Leader of Araromi on the allegations of attempts to bribe his way out of the shameful act was said to have told the sitting that he had sold the 300KVA transformer for One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Naira and used the proceeds to transport the second transformer to Ibadan for repairs.
The statement quotes the Owa Obokun relieving Busuyi Gbadamosi of his roles as the Oba-Odo of Ilesa.
“Chief Busuyi Gbadamosi shall henceforth seize to be referred to as Oba-Odo of Ilesa. He should also refrain from parading himself as such. He shall immediately vacate the Chieftaincy house and the Chieftaincy house shall remain under lock and key and the members of the public are hereby informed not to deal with or call Busuyi Gbadamosi as the Oba-Odo of Ilesa. Above is my pronouncement as the Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland.” The statement added.
