OSPOLY Warns Students Against Night Movements

The Management of Osun State Polytechnic, Ospoly, Iree, has urged students and members of the Institution to stay indoors and avoid roaming from 9 o’clock in the evening daily due to possible security threats in the area.

The advice was contained in an internal memorandum signed by the Registrar of the Institution, Prince Abiodun Oloyede

According to the memorandum, the alert followed intelligence reports suggesting the presence of suspected Fulani herdsmen around Iree and its environs, which may pose a potential threat to the safety of residents, particularly the Students.

The memo states “The entire Polytechnic Community, especially students, are hereby informed to stay indoors anytime from 9:00 p.m. in Iree and its environs.

“This alertness and security awareness arose based on intelligence gathering from the community on the possible presence of some Fulani herdsmen which may likely pose possible security threat that is likely to endanger your movement”.

The Management advised students to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary movements at night, calling on them to promptly report any suspicious activity or perceived threat to the institution’s Chief Security Officer via the phone numbers 07033166585 and 07034557451 for immediate assistance.
