Flying Eagles of Nigeria have crashed out of the 2025 FIFA Under 20 World Cup in Chile.
They were thrashed 4-0 on Wednesday evening by Argentina in the round of 16.
It took Argentina, who had a 100% record in the group stages, only two minutes to go ahead before Maher Carrizo scored a brace to give his country a comfortable lead at half time.
Mateo Silvetti scored the fourth in 66th minute as Argentina advanced to the quarter finals at the expense of Nigeria.
It was an underwhelming campaign for the Flying Eagles, who lost their opening match to Norway.
They had to battle to victory to beat Saudi Arabia in their second group game before playing out a draw with Columbia in their final group game.
They qualified for the round of 16 as one of the best third placed teams in the group stages.
