PDP Loses Another State Governor As Douye Diri Resigns

In a political twist, Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party.

The announcement was made public via Facebook by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Daniel Alabrah, who revealed that the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Abraham Ingobere, and all PDP members in the House have also quit the party.

Governor Diri reportedly made the disclosure during the weekly State Executive Council meeting held at Government House in Yenagoa today.

Although his next political move remains unconfirmed, Diri’s exit ends months of speculation over a potential switch to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Reports further gathered that all members of the State Executive Council have followed suit, tendering their resignations in solidarity.

Attempts to reach key PDP officials, including the state chairman, Mr Solomon Agwanana, have been unsuccessful.

Details are still emerging on this developing story.
