The people of Ogbomoso have reaffirmed their support for the 25-year development vision of the Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Laoye.
The Chairman of the Ogbomoso 2025 Cradle Carnival, Mr. Segun Odebunmi popularly known as Bunvic made this known during a press conference held at the Soun’s palace.
Mr. Odebunmi, who also serves as Chairman of the Ogun/Osun River Basin Development Authority, announced that the Ogbomoso Cradle Carnival will hold from the 18th to the 22nd of December, 2025.
He said the event will feature various entertaining programmes including football matches, ludo and draft games, as well as other recreational activities.
He added that the carnival will showcase rich cultural displays such as Egungun, Ewi, Ijala, and other traditional performances.
In his remarks, the Oyo State Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, applauded Oba Laoye’s developmental vision, assuring that adequate security arrangements have been put in place for the event.
Prince Oyelade, who also doubles as Chairman of Media and Publicity for the carnival, noted that this second edition of the Ogbomoso 2025 Cradle Carnival promises to be colourful and memorable.
In attendance at the briefing were all committee members of the Ogbomoso 2025 Cradle Carnival and other key stakeholders.
