Philanthropist and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Peter Taiwo Ogundeji (APATA) has mourned the passing of the Owa of Igbajo, Oba Philip Adegboyega Famodun.
This is contained in a statement released by his media and communication office on Sunday.
The statement reads;
I received with deep sorrow and profound shock the news of the passing of the Owa of Igbajo, Oba Philip Adegboyega Famodun, former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State.
His transition marks the departure of a rare statesman, a courageous leader, and one of the most strategic political minds our party has ever produced, not just in Osun but also beyond.
Oba Famodun was not only a party stalwart; he was a builder of people, a cultivator of unity, and a bridge between generations.
His commitment to the ideals of democracy, fairness, and responsible leadership defined his political journey. Even as Chairman of our great party, he steered the ship through turbulent waters with calm strength and uncommon wisdom.
He was a man of dignity and depth, measured in speech, firm in principle, and unwavering in his loyalty to the progress of Osun State.
His contributions to political stability, community development, and grassroots mobilisation will remain indelible in the history of our state.
Beyond politics, Oba Famodun was a compassionate humanist whose humility disarmed even his fiercest opponents.
He carried the weight of leadership with grace, never losing sight of the people he served.
Osun State has truly lost an illustrious son. Igbajo has lost a proud Oba, and the APC family has lost a pillar.
On behalf of my family, my political associates, and the entire APATA Support Network, I extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of Oba Famodun, the good people of Igbajo, our brothers and sisters in the All Progressives Congress across Osun and the nation, and to all who held him in high esteem.
May the Almighty console his family in this time of grief, strengthen the community he cherished, and comfort the APC family who now mourn the departure of one of its most dependable pillars.
We pray that God grants his noble soul eternal and peaceful rest, and may He grant all of us the fortitude to bear this monumental loss.
Oba Adegboyega Famodun lived honourably, he served diligently, and he departed as a man whose legacy will endure.
