We must continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, truth, fairness and accountability in the discharge of our duties, while promoting unity and peaceful coexistence within our communities and the nation at large”.
The Council appreciates the resilience, dedication and commitment of journalists in the State who, despite prevailing socio-economic challenges, continue to keep the public informed and enlightened.
It notes that the sacrifices and courage of journalists in the line of duty are deeply valued, and the union remains committed to protecting their welfare and professional interests at all times.
The NUJ, Oyo State Council also calls on government at all levels, corporate organisations and well-meaning individuals to continue to support the media, particularly in the areas of capacity building, improved welfare and a safe working environment for journalists.
