A philanthropist and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Chief Dr Peter Taiwo Ogundeji, popularly known as APATA, has intensified mobilisation efforts across the Osun West Senatorial District, calling on party members and residents to rally behind the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
Chief Ogundeji made the call during a strategic meeting with ward coordinators of the APATA Political Movement, drawn from the one hundred and ten wards across the ten local government areas of Osun West. The meeting, held in Osogbo, brought together over one hundred and twenty participants and focused on grassroots mobilisation, party cohesion, and effective voter engagement at the community level.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Ogundeji urged party faithful, particularly those aggrieved by the outcome of the party primaries, to rise above personal differences and embrace the collective interest of the APC. He warned that internal divisions could undermine the party’s chances at the polls, stressing that respect for party supremacy and unity of purpose remained critical to electoral success.
In a significant highlight of the meeting, Chief Ogundeji formally launched the “APATA FOR AMBO” movement, describing it as a structured grassroots campaign platform designed to galvanise support for Oyebamiji across the Osun West Senatorial District. He pledged to personally finance key campaign activities, including sponsored outreach programmes, branded T-shirts and caps, posters, vehicles, and other logistics, to ensure wide visibility and effective mobilisation at the ward level.

Chief Ogundeji described Alhaji Oyebamiji as a transparent, prudent, and visionary leader, whose commitment to accountability, respect for the rule of law, and inclusive governance would reposition Osun State and deliver tangible dividends of democracy. He criticised what he described as the neglect of critical sectors such as health and education by the present administration, arguing that the state’s financial inflows were not commensurate with the level of impact felt by citizens. He therefore called on residents to give the APC candidate a chance to demonstrate a different approach to governance, noting that leadership should ultimately be judged by measurable outcomes and the well-being of the people.
In his closing remarks, a prominent figure in the APATA Political Movement, Comrade Wole Olajire, underscored the importance of unity, discipline, and loyalty within the APC. He cautioned members against engaging in anti-party activities and urged them to set aside grievances arising from the governorship primaries, noting that collective commitment and organisational discipline were indispensable to securing victory in the forthcoming election.
The meeting, well attended by coordinators from all ten local government areas of Osun West, marked a decisive step in consolidating grassroots support for the APC governorship campaign in the district.
