Ondo Govt Declares Work Free Days As Gov Aiyedatiwa Urges Residents To Prioritise Regular Physical Exercise

Ondo State Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa has announced Monday, 2nd of February and Tuesday, 3rd of February, 2026 as work free day in the State.

A release from the chief press secretary to the governor Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan says the work free days were to enable residents of the state to actively participate in activities of the 50th anniversary of the creation of Ondo State.

The Governor Aiyedatiwa urged the people of the state to take advantage of the period and join in the celebrations meant to reflect on the journey so far, and renew commitment to the shared goal of building a more prosperous, peaceful and united Ondo State.

Providers of essential services are however exempted to ensure that critical services remain uninterrupted throughout the period.

Meanwhile, Governor Aiyedatiwa, has advised residents on regular physical exercise as a vital means of maintaining physical fitness and promoting a healthy lifestyle .

The Governor gave the advice during a health walk organised as part of activities marking the Golden Jubilee celebration of Ondo State.

The exercise, which commenced at the Government House, Akure, was led by Governor Aiyedatiwa and ended at the Akure Sports Complex.

The Governor urged residents to be more conscious and proactive about their health, stressing the importance of regular medical check-ups and consistent physical exercise for overall wellbeing.

He further encouraged the people of the state to actively participate in other programmes lined up for the Ondo State at fifty celebrations.
