The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Femi Haruna, has directed that a case of alleged attempted minor defilement be transferred to the Command’s Gender Desk for investigation.
Nigeria Police Force has begun investigation into the alleged case of attempted defilement involving a six-year-old girl in Ibadan.
According to the Oyo State command, the incident happened late in December 2025 at Onikeke, Ayegun area of Ibadan.
A sixty-five-year-old Ibrahim Raheem, has been arrested in connection with the case.
According to the Police,the suspect confessed to indecent assault but denied having carnal knowledge of the child.
