The Association of Yorubas in Diaspora, South Africa (AYIDSA), has confirmed the appointment of a multiple awards winning Broadcast Journalist,Otunba Babatunde Tiamiyu as its Media Consultant in Nigeria.
In a letter dated February 17, 2026, and issued by the group’s president,Dr. Olusola Agbeniyi, on behalf of the Executive Committee of the association, AYIDSA described the appointment as a recognition of Tiamiyu’s distinguished career in broadcasting and his commitment to promoting Yoruba culture and heritage.

Tiamiyu is the General Manager of Pensioners’ 106.7 FM, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
According to the letter, “On behalf of the National Executive Committee and the entire membership of the Association of Yorubas in Diaspora, South Africa (AYIDSA), I am pleased to formally confirm your appointment as the Media Consultant to AYIDSA in Nigeria.”
The association stated that the appointment was in recognition of his “stellar track record in the broadcast industry, particularly your exemplary leadership as the General Manager of Pensioners’ 106.7 FM, Ibadan, and your unwavering commitment to the promotion of Yoruba culture and heritage.”
AYIDSA outlined his key responsibilities to include coordinating the association’s media presence and public relations efforts within Nigeria, enhancing the visibility of its initiatives — including its annual Heritage Day Celebrations — and providing advisory support on media engagement strategies.
“As our Media Consultant in Nigeria, your primary responsibilities will include strategic communication, brand promotion, and providing expert counsel on media engagement strategies that align with our mission of fostering unity and cultural preservation,” the letter stated.
The association expressed confidence that his experience and professional integrity would advance its objectives, adding that it looks forward to a “productive and mutually beneficial relationship as we work together to strengthen the ties between the Yoruba diaspora in South Africa and our home country.”
