Osun 2026: At Least 2 Injured As APC, Accord Clash In Ilesa

Members of Accord and the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday clashed in Osun State, leaving at least two persons injured.

The clash occurred at Isida area of Ilesa as members of both parties mobilised to Ward 8 for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise, CVR, ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

According to a source in the area who wishes to remain anonymous, members of APC came to the venue at Isida area for registration while members of Accord allegedly mobilised to the scene to disrupt the ongoing exercise which led to clash between them.

Report says that several gunshots were heard at Isida and Ita-Akogun area of Ilesa which made business and shop owners to close their shops but intervention of security operatives prevented further bloodshed.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson of INEC, Mr Musa Olurode, who confirmed the incident, said a stakeholders meeting has been called for further investigation.

Mr Olurode noted that non of the INEC officials were injured during the crisis.
