The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Nigerian football administrator, Samson Adamu as the Acting Secretary General.
Adamu, an astute football administrator will be the first Nigerian to be appointed to assume the position since the continent’s football-governing body was founded seven decades ago.
Adamu replaces Swiss-Congolese Veron Mosengo-Omba, who tendered his resignation the same Sunday
He was, until his appointment the CAF’s Director of Tournaments and Events.
Adamu’s name was proposed and rectified by the CAF Executive Committee by the Congress, at its meeting on Sunday at the Giza Palace Hotel in Cairo, Egypt.
