Barely twenty four that the former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party and ex-Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso relinquished his membership of NNPP, he has officially joined the African Democratic Congress ADC.
Rabiu Kwankwaso who was also a one time Minister of Defence also registered with the party and received his membership card on Monday at Gidan Kwankwasiyya, Miller Road, Bompai, Kano State.
Joining him at the event were ADC National Chairman and former Senate President, David Mark; former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aminu Tambuwal; former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi; Senator Dino Melaye; and former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, John Odigie-Oyegun, among others.
The former Kano State governor while describing his exit as a difficult decision, noted that his longstanding involvement with the party necessitated influenced his decision
Kwankwaso appreciated the party leadership, including the National Chairman, Ajuji Ahmed, and other organs of the party, for their resilience andd doggedness in keeping the banner on
The former NNPP presidential candidate while acknowledging support from his loyalists and supporters, promised to abide by the party constitutional rules.
