In a swift reaction to the recent political summit held in Ibadan, Oyo State by members of all opposition parties in the country, The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described those who attended the political meeting as clowns who do not have the charisma to promote the cause of democracy.
APC in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, disclosed that on no account would President Bola Ahmed Tinubu or anyone in the ruling APC lose sleep over the gathering or antics of the opposition elements.
Sadare in the statement said those who attended the summit have invariably wasted their time, resources and energy which should have been exacted to something productive.
He said it was shameful that Gov. Makinde, who has become a naive and deceitful political player, is now the moral compass for some politicians who have recorded irredeemable failures in politics and governance in the past.
The Oyo State APC publicity secretary who noted that “Operation Wetie” threat which came from Gov. Makinde would not be taken with a pinch of salt as it was a revelation but he should realize that no unrest or violence would mar the 2027 general election.
He said the summit would not affect the party in anyway as 2027 general elections approach.
