President Tinubu Picks Ojukwu As Minister Of Foreign Affairs.

Following the resignation of Yusuf Tugar as Minister of Foreign affairs,President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has again appointed Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Nigeria’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs

According to a statement on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga, Special adviser to the president on information and strategy, Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu who has previously served as Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will now take a new portfolio as Minister of Foreign affairs

The statement also stated that the President also nominated Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as the new Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, subject to Senate screening and approval for confirmation.

Prior to his nomination, Ambassador Enikanolaiye who is from Kogi State has served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.

Enikanolaiye is a distinguished diplomat and seasoned public servant with over three decades of exemplary service in Nigeria’s foreign service. He has previously served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and held key diplomatic postings in Addis Ababa, Belgrade, Ottawa, London, and New Delhi.

President Tinubu maintained that the appointments are part of efforts by his administration to reposition Nigeria’s foreign policy architecture for greater efficiency, strategic engagements with other countries.

The President however congratulated the appointees, urged them to use their professional prowess to contribute to the development of the country and foster lasting relationship on diplomatic levels with other sister countries.
