In a stirring tribute resonating with hope, Senator (Dr) Sharafadeen Alli hailed Nigerian workers as pillars of progress, urging bold reforms prioritising welfare, fairness and dignity.
Alli, an APC governorship aspirant in Oyo State in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, described workers as the backbone of national growth.
The Lawmaker stressed their sacrifices must no longer attract neglect but deliberate policies ensuring improved welfare.
He said Workers’ Day symbolises historic struggles for fair wages, improved conditions and dignity of labour, noting the commemoration remains a call to action for governments and employers nationwide.
Alli commended workers across Oyo State for their resilience, patriotism and dedication despite economic hardship, emphasising their contributions remain critical to productivity, governance effectiveness, and national stability.
He urged governments and private employers to prioritise prompt salary payments, pensions and conducive environments, insisting a motivated workforce was essential for economic stability, productivity growth and sustainable national development.
“You all deserve your wages. You will surely get it as and when due” Alli assures.
The senator said appreciation of workers must go beyond rhetorics, stressing that real commitment should reflect in improved welfare packages, job security and opportunities that guarantee long-term economic empowerment.
Alli reaffirmed his commitment to championing policies protecting workers’ rights, pledging to restore dignity of labour through inclusive governance that prioritises fairness, equity and opportunities for all categories of workers.
He urged workers to remain united, hopeful and steadfast, assuring them their resilience and contributions would continue to shape a more prosperous, equitable and forward-looking Oyo State.
