Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Sharafadeen Alli (APC) has condemned Friday attack on some schools and communities in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a statement issued on Friday in Ibadan, Sen Alli described the incident as painful, disturbing and unfortunate.
According to the police, armed hoodlums riding motorcycles simultaneously attacked Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota, as well as, Community Grammar School and L.A Primary School, Esiele.
“The attackers reportedly abducted several pupils, students and staff members, including the Vice Principal, Mrs. Alamu Folawe.”
The Lawmaker, who is a leading Governorship Aspirant in Oyo State, expressed deep sympathy with the affected families, praying Almighty God to comfort them and grant the abducted victims safe and speedy freedom from captivity.
He urged the families not to lose hope, expressing confidence that God would intervene and ensure the safe return of all abductees to reunite with their loved ones.
Alli also commended the Oyo State Police Command under the leadership of CP Ayodeji Abimbola for the ongoing rescue efforts aimed at securing the release of the victims and apprehending the perpetrators.
He called on security agencies to intensify efforts toward ensuring the abductees were rescued unhurt, while those behind the criminal act were brought to justice without delay.
The Senator further appealed to residents of the affected communities to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could aid ongoing investigations and rescue operations.
Alli prayed for the repose of the souls of those reportedly killed during the attacks, including the Assistant Headmaster, Mr. Adesiyan and the commercial motorcycle rider, urging residents to remain vigilant and security conscious.
