Oyo State Government has suspended all excursions, field trips, sports competitions and other activities that involve moving students and teachers outside the school premises.
This is in a bid to safeguard the lives of students and members of staff in Public and private schools across the State.
In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Oyo State ministry of Education, Mrs Bamidele Oyinloye, the directive overrides earlier approvals granted by the ministry.
According to the statement, school administrators are to keep the students within school premises during school hours and to report any suspicious movement around their schools to security operatives.
The statement adds that the directive which is in view of recent security concerns in the state, takes immediate effect.
