Ahead of August 15th governorship election in Osun State, Osogbo, the Osun State capital, was agog as a large crowd of supporters, party members and residents turned out for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) campaign rally in support of its governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Najeem Folasayo Salaam, Ph.D., popularly known as Iwaloye.
The rally which attracted the presence of top national figures of the ADC, including the National Chairman, Distinguished Senator David Mark; National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola; and the party’s Presidential Candidate and former Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, among other leaders and stakeholders provided an opportunity for the ADC leadership to connect directly with the people of Osogbo and reinforce the party’s campaign message ahead of the governorship election.
The massive turnout was presented as an indication of the party’s expanding presence and grassroots acceptance across the state.

Addressing supporters, the national leaders called on the people of Osun State to embrace unity, responsible leadership and good governance as the state election approaches
They also urged voters to support a government that would prioritise accountability, inclusiveness and meaningful development.
The campaign further showcased the political strength and organisational capacity of the ADC, as enthusiastic supporters marched through the city and expressed their support for Iwaloye.
Some of the party members who spoke with journalists described the ADC candidate candidate as an experienced politician with the capacity to provide purposeful leadership for the state.
The ADC leadership also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its grassroots structures and engaging communities across the 30 local government areas of Osun State.
The party said its campaign would continue to focus on presenting its programmes and vision to voters ahead of the election.
With the Osogbo rally adding momentum to its campaign activities, the ADC leadership said it remained focused on securing the confidence of the electorate and delivering a new direction for Osun State under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Najeem Folasayo Salaam, Ph.D.
