OyoSUBEB Denies Involvement In Common Entrance Examination Results Leak

The Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, has denied any involvement by the Board in the alleged leakage of results of the recently concluded Common Entrance Examination, describing the allegation broadcast on a popular Ibadan radio station as false, unfounded and misleading.

Dr. Nureni Aderemi n a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Ibadan said the allegation was capable of causing unnecessary damage to the reputation of the Board and its headship.

The Board clarified that it was not involved at any stage in the conduct, setting, production or handling of questions for the Common Entrance Examination held last week Thursday across Oyo State.

He described any attempt to link him , OYOSUBEB or its officials to the alleged examination leakage as completely baseless, while stressing that the administration of the Executive Chairman had consistently maintained transparency, accountability and professionalism in the conduct of any external examination.

While acknowledging the important role of the media in holding public institutions accountable, Dr. Nureni advised broadcasters and journalists to uphold the principles of accuracy, fairness and responsible journalism by verifying information before airing it , maintained that the Board will not compromise its standard necessary to protect the integrity and reputation of its leadership.

OYOSUBEB called on members of the public to disregard the allegation and rely only on verified information from the appropriate authorities.
