The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, has felicitated a renowned statesman, philanthropist and its esteemed benefactor, Alhaji Wasiu Adebisi, on the occasion of his birthday.
The Council, in a congratulatory message jointly signed by its Chairman, Akeem Abas and Secretary, Temidayo Adu, described Adebisi as a distinguished public-spirited Nigerian whose contributions to humanity, community development and the media have continued to inspire many.
The NUJ noted that Adebisi had demonstrated that true leadership was not measured only by political positions or material wealth, but by the positive impact an individual makes in the lives of others and the society at large.
According to the Council, Adebisi’s philanthropic gestures have touched numerous lives, particularly among the less privileged, while his support for journalism and journalists has shown his deep appreciation of the media as an indispensable pillar of democracy.
The council commended him for consistently identifying with journalists and supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening the profession, describing such gestures as worthy investments in the future of responsible journalism and democratic development.
