Three Die In Ilesa Road Mishap

Three persons have been confirmed dead while 20 others sustained varying degrees of injuries following a road accident at Tonkere town along the Ife-Ilesa Expressway.

Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Osun State Command, confirmed this to newsmen.

‎The State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr. Sunday Adebayo, explained that a Toyota Hiace bus and a black Volkswagen Golf car were involved in the accident.

‎Mr. Adebayo blamed the crash on excessive speeding and dangerous driving.

He warned motorists against behaviours capable of endangering their lives and other road users.

‎He explained that the deceased comprised two females and one male, while the injured victims had been taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

‎Mr. Adebayo called on motorists to reduce their speed and exercise greater caution while driving, stressing that lower speeds could reduce the severity of injuries and fatalities when crashes occur.

‎He reiterated that the FRSC would sustain its public enlightenment campaigns and other road safety initiatives across the state, with a view to reducing road crashes and preventing avoidable deaths on the roads.
