Police Begin Investigation As Gov Adeleke’s Aide Murdered In Ile Ife

‎An close associate of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Olalekan Oyeyemi popularly known as Emir Ajagungbade was reportedly killed in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

‎Emir was allegedly killed with stones during an incident involving the chairman of Ife Mini-Bus, popularly known as Síbí.

‎According to Eyewitness, the incident is linked to the crisis on the leadership of the motor parks between two factions loyal to Governor Adeleke.

‎He was said to be holding a meeting with some transporters in the town when some individuals invaded the venue.

Meanwhile, ‎the Osun State Police Command has commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing of Emir Ajagungbade.

‎In a Statement by the command’s Spokesperson, Mr Abiodun Ojelabi, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Zungura said the attention of the command was initially drawn to an accident in the area, prompting the deployment of operatives to restore normalcy, secure the scene and commence an investigation.

‎Mr Zungura explained that the Police is working to establish the immediate and remote causes of the shooting, identify those responsible and ensure that anyone found culpable faces the full weight of the law.
