Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the extension of the ₦25,000 wage award and continuation of the SAfER subsidised transport scheme worth ₦10,000 for workers for another three months.
The measures, according to governor. Seyi Makinde are aimed at cushioning the effects of the current economic hardship on civil and public servants in the state.
The Governor announced the extension on Friday while addressing civil and public servants at the frontage of the Agodi Secretariat, Ibadan, following his return to office after a one-month leave.
He expressed appreciation to workers for their support and assured them that his administration would continue to engage the Nigeria Labour Congress and other labour unions on how to manage the state’s limited resources.
The Governor said his government remained committed to supporting workers despite the economic challenges confronting the country.
Earlier, the Head of Service, Dr. Fasina, assured that the state civil service remained stable and intact, while appreciating the government for its support to workers.
