The Oyo State Government through the ministry of education, science and technology has announced the release of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Entrance Examination into the Oyo State Schools of Science.
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola who disclosed this on Thursday at the resumption meeting with principals of public secondary schools in Oyo State said the results are now available to candidates and relevant stakeholders through channels provided by the Ministry.
The Commissioner congratulated candidates who performed well, urging them to remain focused and committed to their studies for future success
Honourable Olusegun also encouraged successful candidates admitted into the Schools of Science to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the specialised institutions.
He reiterated Governor Seyi Makinde administration’s commitment to teachers’ welfare, safer schools and quality education, noting that teachers would continue to benefit from training and retraining, timely promotion and prompt payment of salaries and other entitlements.
The Commissioner directed principals to strengthen security in schools by properly manning school gates, monitoring perimeter fences and clearing overgrown bushes.
The Commissioner also reiterated the ban on mobile phones and other mobile devices during school hours, directing that confiscated devices be released only to parents or guardians. He warned that supervisors, invigilators and school heads involved in examination malpractice would be sanctioned.
The Permanent Secretaries of the Ministry and TESCOM, Mrs. Bamidele Oyinloye and Mrs. Sherifat Abimbola, alongside ANCOPPS President Babatunde Fasasi and NUT Chairman Hassan Fatai, called for discipline, professionalism, students’ welfare and sustained attention to teachers’ promotion and career progression.
