Governors of the six States in the North Central, Nigeria, have pledged to mobilise support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general election.
The Governors made the pledge at a mega rally organised by the All Progressives Congress, APC, North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Forum in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
The rally was aimed at strengthening support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general election.
In his keynote address, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Grand Patron of the APC North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Forum, Senator George Akume, described the rally as an opportunity to reaffirm the zone’s commitment to the President’s re-election.
Senator Akume said the large turnout of supporters from across the North Central zone demonstrated their endorsement of President Tinubu’s leadership and reflected the Governors’ support for his administration.
The Governors of the six states in the zone took turns to declare their support for the President’s re-election, citing his administration’s policies on infrastructure development, security and other areas of national development.
In her remarks, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, commended the people of the North Central zone for their support for her husband’s administration.
She said the difficult decisions taken by the government were beginning to yield positive results towards improving the living conditions of Nigerians.
Senator Tinubu called for continued support and understanding from Nigerians, expressing optimism that the endorsement by the North Central Governors would strengthen confidence in the administration’s efforts to build a better Nigeria.
Also speaking, the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and the Director-General of the Tinubu Campaign Organisation, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, represented by the Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, PGF, Senator Hope Uzodimma, said, President Tinubu’s re-election would provide an opportunity to consolidate the administration’s policies and programmes.
They expressed the view that continuity would create further opportunities to strengthen the economy and promote sustainable development for present and future generations.
