Philanthropist, Dr Peter Ogundeji Provides Free Eye Care Services For Over 4000 People To Mark 40th Birthday

‎‎Over 4,000 people have benefited from free eye-care services organised as part of activities marking the 40th birthday celebration of philanthropist and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Osun State, Chief (Dr.) Peter Taiwo Ogundeji.

‎The residents received medical attention across centres located in Ede, Iwo, Ejigbo and Ikire, all within the Osun West Senatorial District, with each centre attending to roughly 1,000 beneficiaries.

‎Thousands of APC members and beneficiaries trooped out to receive Dr Peter Ogundeji with songs and praises at the designated venues, expressing gratitude for his kindness and longstanding commitment to humanitarian service.

‎Addressing beneficiaries in each centre, Dr Ogundeji explained that he embarked on the initiative as a way of giving back to society. He emphasised the importance of prioritising personal health, noting that poor health remains a major obstacle to economic progress and overall well-being.

‎The celebrant added that the outreach stemmed from his passion for improving the lives of people—especially those who lack the financial capacity to address their health challenges.

‎In his remarks, the APC Chairman of Ede-North Local Government, Alhaji Adesina Alabi, commended Dr Ogundeji for the philanthropic gesture. He recalled that the celebrant had previously championed various empowerment programmes and community development initiatives, further demonstrating his genuine concern for humanity.

‎One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Christiana Adeyeye, expressed delight after receiving free reading glasses from the medical team. She said the glasses would greatly assist her daily activities and appreciated the celebrant for making them accessible at no cost.

‎Another beneficiary, Pa Fatai Gbadamosi, said he was scheduled for free cataract surgery at the State Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo, after undergoing an eye examination during the outreach.

‎The week-long 40th birthday celebration of Chief (Dr.) Peter Ogundeji, popularly known as Apata, commenced on Monday with a colloquium and the official launch of his book titled “From Hustle to Hope.”

‎Activities continue tomorrow with a Novelty Football Match between Iwo All Stars and Ejigbo All Stars at the Iwo Township Stadium. The event is designed to foster unity, friendship, and healthy competition among communities in Osun West.

‎On Thursday, 20 November, attention will shift to youth and women empowerment at Legacy Hall, Ola Town, Ejigbo Local Government Area, where sewing machines, hair dryers, and other equipment will be distributed to apprentices and small-scale entrepreneurs to promote productivity and self-reliance.

‎Friday, 21 November, has been dedicated to Special Prayers for the celebrant. The session will be held at Apata Castle, opposite Gbolaru Palace, Ilupeju Estate, Ido-Osun, with family members, friends, and supporters gathering to give thanks for his life and accomplishments.

‎The grand finale will take place on Sunday, 23 November, at De-Legend Event Centre, beside Grace Cooking Gas, Dele Yes Sir Area, Osogbo.

The closing ceremony is expected to draw associates, partners, family, and admirers who continue to celebrate Apata’s enduring legacy of generosity and leadership.
