Viewers’ Discretion: 5 Die As Buses Collide In Osun

Five persons, including children, have been confirmed dead in a fatal road accident that occurred on Thursday night at Omi-Asoro Junction in Ilesa, Osun State.

Eye eyewitness disclosed that the crash involved a head-on collision between a Hummer bus and a commercial minibus popularly known as “Korope.” The accident reportedly occurred around 9 p.m., causing fear among residents and road users in the area.

One of the survivors explained that the Hummer bus, loaded with goods such as phone accessories and electronic appliances, was travelling from Ilorin en route to Warri, Delta State, before the tragic incident occurred.

They described the impact of the collision as devastating, maintaining that both vehicles were badly damaged beyond recognition. Some victims were reportedly thrown onto the highway and nearby bushes due to the force of the crash.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the area who confirmed the incident to newsmen explained that those who sustained injuries have been taken to Zion Hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at a mortuary.
