NPF Gets New Force Public Relations Officer

The Nigeria Police Force has named CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu as its new Force Public Relations Officer following the approval of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

The appointment places the experienced officer at the forefront of the Force’s public communication and media engagement efforts.

CSP Iniedu, who is a native of Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, is expected to bring to the role a blend of operational policing, intelligence management, public relations, and administrative experience.

The seasoned communication expert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Chemistry from University of Uyo and has participated in several professional courses covering investigative interviewing, strategic communication, crime scene management, intelligence analysis, and human rights-based policing.

Before his appointment as the new force image maker Okokon has headed the Complaint Response Unit at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, where he oversaw the handling of public complaints and spearheaded initiatives designed to improve accountability, transparency, and public confidence in the police institution as a professional police officer.

His career within the Force has also included a stint as Public Relations Officer at the Police College of Information Technology, Kobape, Ogun State, alongside various operational and administrative responsibilities in different commands across the country.

Over there decades , CSP Iniedu has occupied several strategic positions, including Operations Officer at Maisandari Division in Yobe State, Area Crime Officer at Umuahia Area Command in Abia State, Staff Officer at the IGP Secretariat, and Second-in-Command of the 50 Police Mobile Force Squadron in Kubwa.

Announcing the appointment, the Inspector-General expressed confidence in the officer’s ability to drive the activities of the Force Public Relations Department maintaining that Iniedu’s professional background and extensive field experience would contribute significantly to strengthening communication between the police and the public while supporting ongoing reform initiatives.

With his appointment, CSP Iniedu is expected to serve as the principal link between the Nigeria Police Force, the media, and members of the public.
