Police Recovers Two Bodies From River In Ogun State

The police in Ogun State have urged the residents to furnish them with relevant information towards uncovering the circumstances leading to the discovery of lifeless bodies of two teenagers in a river at a community in Igbesa, Ado/Odo Ota local government area of the state.
Police Public Relations Officer, Ms Omolola Odutola who made the appeal in Abeokuta while speaking with journalists said the tragic incident occurred at the Idi-Oke community of Igbesa, at a river close to the late teenagers residence.
Ms Odutola explained that the corpses of 15 year old Malik Abdulganiyu and 13 year old Hawal Akande were reportedly found floating on the river on Friday, 28th 2024, stating that police detectives who visited the scene had examined the bodies thoroughly, but found no signs of an attack.
She said the mothers of Abdulganiyu and Akande had earlier notified the police that the teenagers had gone missing, when they failed to return home from their place of work located within the same community, since Wednesday.
The PPRO who pointed out that the bereaved family had demanded the release of the corpses for burial, also maintained that the command was investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the two teenagers.
