Written by News Desk on October 28, 2024
Spain and Manchester city midfielder Rodri has been named the winner of the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
At the ceremony in Paris, France, Rodri saw off competitions from Real Madrid’s Vincius Jr and Jude Bellingham to become the second English Premier League player to ever win the Ballon d’Or. Cristiano Ronaldo was the first ever EPL player to win the award in 2008 while playing for Manchester United.
After helping Manchester City win the Premier League and Spain triumph at Euro 2024, Rodri wins the Ballon d’Or.
He is helped up on stage by Didier Drogba, with the midfielder currently on crutches after tearing his ACL earlier this season.
