The Commissioner for Women affairs and Social development, Adijat Adeleye,while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta, explained that the new lines was to ensure improved response time and provision of immediate medical, psychosocial, and legal assistance to victims through the Sexual Assault Referral Centres ,SARC.
She stressed that the new toll- lines was part of the ongoing commitment to safeguarding the rights and dignity of all residents,while affirming that the state government remained resolute in enforcing strict penalties for offenders and providing support systems for survivors.
The Commissioner enjoined individuals,Civil organizations ,law enforcement agencies, and community stakeholders to actively participate in the fight against sexual violence and report Abuse cases promptly.
