APC Accuses Osun Government Of N13.7Bn Payroll Fraud

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State has alleged the Administration of the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke of an Annual Payroll fraud of ₦13.7 Billion.
The State Chairman of the Party, Chief Tajudeen Lawal made the allegation at a News Conference held in Osogbo, the Osun State Capital.
Chief Lawal maintained that the statements attributed to the Vice Chairman and chief executive officer of Sally Tibbot Consulting Limited, Saadat Ottun, substantiated the party’s concerns regarding the state’s payroll structure.
He noted that the disclosure confirmed what the APC described as significant irregularities within the administration and called on anti-corruption agencies to thoroughly examine the issue.
“The alleged complicity of Dr Deji Adeleke and of the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, alongside other key members of the Governor’s inner circle, raises serious concerns that non-state actors and those not known to law collude with characters entrusted with the administration of the state over the past three years to shortchange the people of the state and illegally enrich themselves with the wealth of the people” Osun APC Chairman said.
Chief Lawal called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to resign from office over the alleged payroll fraud controversy.
He noted that stepping down would allow for an independent and transparent investigations into the matter.
The party called on relevant anti-corruption agencies to investigate the allegations and ensure that anyone found culpable is held accountable in accordance with the law.
In a swift reaction, Osun State Government has refuted the allegation of a ₦13 billion payroll scam linked to Sally Tibbot Limited.
The State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr.Kolapo Alimi who disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen described the allegations as renewed claims which is fabricated and politically motivated by the APC.
While emphasizing that no such fraud occurred, Mr. Alimi noted that a verification of the disputed audit report showed that more than two-thirds of those identified as faceless workers were legitimate employees with valid identification and proper documentation.
He stressed that the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke remained receptive to investigations by anti-corruption agencies adding, he was the actual initiator of the audit project.
