Insecurity: Olubadan Inaugurates Ibadan Community Guards

As part of efforts to ensure adequate security of lives and property of the people at the grassroots, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, and Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, Oba Rashidi Ladoja has inaugurated Ibadan Community Guards.
The inauguration ceremony which was held at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan, had in attendance prominent Daughters and Sons of the Ancient City including Olubadan Advisory Council.
While speaking at the Inauguration of Ibadan Guards Security Coordination Desk and Olubadan Food Security and Agricultural Development Initiatives, Oba Ladoja said, the newly formed guards are expected to work in collaboration with existing government security agencies to enhance policing across the eleven Local Government areas in Ibadanland.

The Monarch maintained that, though, the government is trying its best on security, it should not be left alone for them, hence, the need for collective responsibilities.
In another development, the Olubadan also launched Gaari Ibadan, an Initiative of Economic and Investment Committee put together him with a view to revamping moribund companies and investments within the ancient City.

Speaking, the Chairman of the Committee, Former Minister of Trade and Investment, Chief Onikepo Akande said, the Committee would recognize that traditional institutions must not only preserve culture, but also actively shape economic destiny of the City.
Dignitaries at the Occasion included, Co-chair man of the Committee, Former Head of Service of the Federation, Professor Oladapo Afolabi, Members of the Committee, Mogajis and Baales in Ibadanland.
