Police Arrest Hotel Manager For Alleged Human Trafficking

Waheed Alawodi, a 50-year-old Hotel Manager in Sabo area of Sagamu, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force, Ogun State Command for alleged conspiracy and Human trafficking.

The arrest followed a complaint by a Concerned citizen that Waheed usually lures young girls into prostitution, in an hotel in the Sabo area of Sagamu.

Some of the victims, who confirmed the incident to the complainant, said they were brought from Akwa-Ibom State under the pretense of employing them in a supermarket in Sagamu, and been paid One hundred thousand naira each at the end of the year.

Reacting, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun State, OmOlola Odutola disclosed that, with the arrest of the manager, other staff and sex workers fled from the Hotel.

The Police Spokesperson said the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department ,SCIID, Eleweran in Abeokuta, for further investigation.
