FG Open to Dialogue Over Intervention Programmes-Minister

Nigeria’s Information and National Orientation minister, Mohammed Idris says federal government is open to constructive dialogue on the various intervention programmes of the government to mitigate the harsh economic realities.
The Minister, represented by the Head, Federal Information and Resource Centre, Ado-Ekiti, Omotola Yemisi stated this in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday at the Town Hall Meeting on FG Intervention Programmes.
According to the Minister, the goal of the stakeholders engagement is geared towards creating an enabling environment that supports economic growth and development by tapping into available social schemes.
On his part, the Commissioner for Information in Ekiti State, Taiwo Olatunbosun, represented by Yusuf Habibat highlighted the FG’s interventions in the State to include; infrastructural intervention, poverty alleviation programmes, palliative to citizens to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal, among others.
Also, the Director General, Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship, Ekiti State, Famuyiwa Olawumi sensitized the stakeholders on FG’s interventions at both the State and local governments levels.
She noted that more awareness should be created while decrying the challenges to the implementation of the interventions to include; limited awareness, bureaucratic bottlenecks, corruption, language barriers etc.
The event had in attendance stakeholders including the traditional institution, students’ union groups, Nigeria Union of Journalists, security agencies, students, and representative of Heads of Federal Establishments in Ekiti State.
