VP Shettima Departs Nigeria To Attend 79th UNGA

Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja to attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, in the United States.
The Vice President left the country on Sunday.
Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier directed Shettima to lead the Nigerian delegation to the high level global forum, while he (Tinubu) focuses on addressing domestic pressing issues including the devastating flood disasters in some parts of the country.
During the session, Shettima is expected to deliver Nigeria’s national statement, participate in key meetings on the sidelines of the event, as well as, engage in bilateral meetings.
The 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly is expected to take place between 24th September, 2024 and 28th September, 2024.
