Akwa Ibom Governor Picks Daughter as Acting First Lady

The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, has designated his daughter, Mrs Helen Eno-Obareki, to serve as the Acting First Lady of the State in the wake of the passing of his wife, Pastor Patience Eno.
The Governor disclosed the news during a condolence visit that included Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, along with other esteemed personalities n Uyo.
Governor Eno expressed that his daughter would assume the responsibilities of the First Lady, guaranteeing the ongoing support of the office and the initiatives launched by his late wife, especially the Golden Initiative For All, GIFA.
He said, “To maintain the Office of the First Lady and carry forward my late wife’s work, I present our daughter, Helen, to continue the duties of the office. She will work closely with the Deputy Governor and the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare.”
Mrs Helen Eno Obareki is a first-class graduate of Human Resources with an MBA from Oklahoma Christian University. She got her first degree in Multidisciplinary Studies from the University of Oklahoma and has gone on to receive many certifications in Human Resource Management, Project Management and Customer Service. After a brief stint in the pharmaceutical industry and the banking sector, she chose to settle into a career in hospitality.
