2024 Natl Sports Festival: Renovation Works Begins on MKO Abiola International Stadium

Ahead of the 2024 National sports festival scheduled to hold in Ogun State, renovation works have commenced on the MKO Abiola International stadium in Kuto, Abeokuta and Alake Sports Centre, Ijeja.
Ongoing renovations include scraping of the pitch at the mainbowl of the stadium, removal of the tartan tracks as well as roofs at the indoor hall of Alake Sports Centre Ijeja were ongoing simultaneously when the Isiaka led Journalists to the sites.
Speaking after an inspection, Commissioner for Sports Development in the state, Mr Wasiu Isiaka gave the assurance that the renovation would be completed within the stipulated time and would be tested before the games.
He said the VIP section of the Stadium would be increased while swimming pool, Tennis and Handball courts would also be at the MKO International Stadium Kuto Abeokuta
Mr Isiaka reaffirmed the readiness of the state government to host a befitting Festival, adding that the facilities would be top notch that would attract National and International events.
Mr Isiaka also restated the commitment of the present administration to the discovery and nurturing of young athletes.
The National Sports Festival will be held between January 12 and January 26, 2025
