Lack of Patriotism, One of Major Factors Contributing to Nigeria’s Challenges – NOA

National Orientation Agency, NOA, has held a Sensitisation Town Hall Meeting with Stakeholders and residents in Oyo State on the need to be patriotic and embrace national core values for better Nigeria.
Director-General of the Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu while speaking at the Event held at the Western Hall, Oyo State Secretariat, Ibadan said, poor attitudinal change, lack of patriotism, trust and commitment to Nation Building were major factors contributing to challenges bedevilling the Country.
Speaking at the launch of National Identity Project, Mallam Issa-Onilu who was represented by the Director, Political Education Civic and Values, National Orientation Agency Headquarters, Abuja, Mrs Adeola Adelaja emphasized the need importance of moral discipline, patriotism, honesty, hard work, and cultural values in the Country.
Mallam Issa-Onilu who acknowledged the present challenges in Nigeria, appealed to the public to be patient with the Government in its reformative Policies, saying Seven Nigeria promises and Seven Citizens Codes are to followed by both parties for better development.
“Federal Government has approved the nationalization of cartoons in the country aimed to promote our values, culture, heroes, and lifestyles. This will also encourage local cartoon content Creator’s through various forms of government support to create jobs and develop the animation movie sub sector.”
In a Remark, Director-General, Oyo State Mobilisation and Social Education Development, OYMASED, Dr. Moronkola Thomas called on people to avoid acts such as Street trading, traffic disobedience, vandalism among others which are capable of jeopardizing the efforts of Government at all levels.
Earlier, Oyo State Director, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Dr. Olukemi Afolayan enjoined the public to always key into various policies and programmes of Federal Government such as NELFUND, CNG Initiative, Youth Empowerment Programme and others.
Dr. Afolayan expressed the agency’s readiness to continue giving feedbacks to the Government on the challenges facing the Public, while the public will also be kept abreast of all the People-centred Programmes of the Government.
In attendance were Religious Leaders, Market Men and Women, Civil Society Organisations, Security Agencies, National Youth Service Corps Members and Artisans.
