Osun Begins Implementation Of New Minimu From 1st Of December

Osun State Government has disclosed that the payment of the Seventy – Five Thousand, Five Hundred and Forty naira, twenty eight Kobo, #75,540: 28k New minimum wage for its workers ,would take effect from 1st December, 2024, with one month Arrears.
Also, The Sum of Twenty – Five Thousand Naira has been approved for Pensioners in the State across board.
Speaking The State Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi stated this during the signing of an agreement for the Commencement of the new minimum wage, between representatives of the State Government and the leadership of the Organized Labour , held at the Exco Chambers , State Secretariat Abere, Osogbo.
Prince Adewusi said the State Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke was unavoidably absent to attend to other official Assignments.
While describing the Senator Ademola Adeleke as a compassionate leader , The Deputy Governor noted that one good turn deserves another, hence the need for Workers in the State to be more dedicated to thier duties.
In his remarks , the State Chairman , Nigeria Labour Union, NLC, Comrade Christopher Arapasopo said this is the first time the Labour Unions would have a seamless and rancor free negotiation with the Government.
Comrade Arapasopo noted that the new minimum wage would go a long way to cushion the effect of the hardship of workers in the State, in view of the hike in goods and services across the Nation.
The event had in attendance ; Commissioner for Finance,Mr Olusola Ogungbile , Commissioner for Budget Planning, Professor Moruf Adeleke, Commissioner for Information and Strategy,Mr Kolapo Alimi, Head of Service Mr Ayanleye Aina, Leaders of various labour unions across the State among other distinguished guests.
