Tragedy : Fire Kills Family Of Six In Osun

A Fire outbreak has broke out at the residence of a Customs officer, Mr. Tijani Kabiru, attached to the Oyo/Osun Command, killed him, his wife, and four of their children.

The inferno which occured at Akankan Area, Ede, Osun State in the early hours of today, left the community in shock and mourning.

Speaking with Newsmen, A Neighbour, Simply identified as Mr. Kola said the time fire outbreak started could not be ascertained, but they noticed smoke from the Building at about 3am.

Mr. Kola “The response time of the firemen was not bad, but the house had been badly affected before the fire could be subdued. Kabiru, his wife, and four children were already burnt to death. But one of the children escaped.”

He explained that the firefighters from Ede Fire Station were promptly contacted after smoke was detected.

Mr. Kola stressed that by the time the firefighters arrived, the fire had already consumed a Large part of the house.

Confirming the Incidence, The Spokesperson ,Osun State Fire Service, Mr. Ibraheem Adekunle said they recieved a distress call around 3am and a team from Ede zonal Command proceeded to the scene alongside a backup team from the Fire Service Headquarters in Abere, Osogbo.
