Federal Government Donates Millions Of Naira To Family Of Nigeria’s Flag Designer

Federal Government of Nigeria has donated the sum of Thirty Million Naira to the family of the renowned designer of the National Flag, Late Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi in fulfilment of the promise made to his family.
Presenting the Cheque to the family at the residence of Pa Akinwunmi in Ibadan, Oyo State, the Director-General, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, emphasized that the government would continue to acknowledge the impact and patriotism of Late Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi.
Mallam Issa-Onilu described the deceased as a legend who used his God-given talent as a youth to design the National Flag which is one of the National Symbols till date in the Country.
Responding on behalf of the family, One of the Children of Late Pa Akinkunmi, Mr Akinwunmi Akinkunmi appreciated President Bola Tinubu for keeping to his promise of supporting the family.
He also appealed to the Government to kindly immortalise their Patriarch.
Earlier , the Director General of NOA,Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu,paid a heartfelt visit to the tomb of Pa Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi.
The Director-General was accompanied by the Oyo State Director, National Orientation Agency, NOA, Dr Olukemi Afolayan and other Members of Staff of the Directorate.
