Police Condemn Gunmen Attack On Ota Village

The Ogun State Police Command, has condemned the senseless and brutal attack on Osuke Village, Ota, by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
The state commissioner of police, Mr Lanre Ogunlowo made this known in a statement through the police public relations officer, Ms Omolola Odutola.
According to the statement,On February 27, 2025, at about 2;20Pm ,one resident of Iju mosque compound,Osuke Ota,Mr Olusoji Jìnádù lodged a complaint that a group of armed hoodlums, led by an individual identified as Elijah, stormed the Muslim Prayer Ground in Osuke Ota on a motorcycle and opened fire indiscriminately, causing panic and endangering the lives of innocent citizens.
The statement added that the complainant’s 24-year-old son, Saheed Jinadu Shoboyede, was struck by a bullet and was rushed to the State General Hospital, Ota, where a doctor on duty pronounced him dead.
Mr.Ogunlowo said that the state police command remains steadfast in it’s commitment to ensure the safety and security of all residents.
He urged anyone with relevant information to contact the nearest police station while a full-scale investigation has been launched to track down and apprehend those responsible for this heinous act.
