FIFA Appoints Match Officials For U-17 Women’s World Cup ,Confirms The Use Of Football Video Support

Fifty-four match officials , comprising 18 referees and 36 assistant referees from 36 FIFA Member Associations who will oversee FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco later this year have been named by the FIFA Referees Committee.

While announcing the names ahead of the tournament scheduled to hold between 17th October and 8th of November,2025,Chairman of the FIFA Referees Committee, Pierluigi Collina said this year’s tournament is the first of the annual competitions to be played in Morocco over the next five years, and the first edition,having 24 participating countries.
She described the tournament as an opportunity for both players and officials to gain more experience on the global stage.
Meanwhile,Football Video Support (FVS) will be used instead of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.
FVS does not use dedicated video match officials. Instead, respective coaches are allowed to call for review when they feel it is needed.
